제주의 하도는 양산박 전투에서 귀를 잃자 앙심을 품고 양산을 토벌코자 한다. 그는 좌산호, 와산호 형제와 손 잡고 양산으로 가는 길목을 모두 봉쇄하고 당양구에 불법 객잔을 차려 식량을 쟁탈하는 작전을 세우게 되는데, 양산박에서 주귀와 완소칠을 보내 대원정이 시작된다. 성질이 급해 군사가 같이 가는 것을 저지했던 유당 역시 떼를 써 합류하게 되고, 불법 객잔에 들게 되는데 미심쩍은 기척을 눈치 챈 주귀는 기회를 봐 빠져 나온다. 주귀는 유당을 구하고 식량을 사 무사히 양산으로 돌아가기 위해 계책을 짜는데...
