대학에서 사회학을 가르치는 젊은 교수 조나가 어머니의 기일을 맞아 오랜만에 집으로 돌아온다. 종군 사진 작가였던 어머니의 3주기 기념 전시를 위해 그녀의 자료들을 정리하는 조나. 그는 어머니가 떠난 뒤 사이가 서먹해진 아버지와 동생의 사이에서 관계를 회복하기 위해 노력한다. 한편, 어머니의 오랜 파트너였던 리처드는 어머니의 사고에 대한 비밀을 기사화하겠다고 선언하고, 이를 반대하던 조나는 또다른 진실을 마주하게 되는데…
