로위문 가족은 더럽고 시끄러운 해현각이라는 오래된 빌딩에 살고 있다. 병든 아버지, 열심히 일하지만 돈은 많이 못 버는 위문, 매일 화를 안고 사는 아내, 음악을 한다며 사실 취업 못하고 있는 첫째 아들, 공부에는 관심 없고 엉뚱하기만 한 딸과 함께 살아가고 있다. 다섯 식구는 늘 투닥거리며 살지만 창문 너머로 보이는 바다 풍경으로 위안을 삼으며 또 하루를 살아간다.
