은행에 들어가 싸구려 빗을 팔던 잡상인 이영배는 은행 강도로 돌변한다. 곧이어 은행 안에선 인질극이 벌어지게 되는데, 인질범은 이영배가 아닌 은행 직원인 김순태 과장.이영배의 협박으로 졸지에 인질범 역할을 맡게 된 은행직원 김순태는 평범한 샐러리맨이자 30대 후반의 가장이다. 그는 총을 손에 쥐고 어정쩡히 낯설어 하다가 감정의 폭주를 일으키게 된다.
