소설을 쓰는 현수는 처음 이사간 “큰 감나무가 있는 집”에서 낯선 여자 윤주를 만나 하루를 함께 보내게 된다. 영화를 만드는 현수와 정윤은 “기차가 지나가는 횟집”에서 촬영을 하고, 다음 작품에 대한 계획을 말하다 이별한다. 아내를 잃어버린 현수는 그녀가 글을 썼던 “바다가 보이는 작업실”에 찾아와 아내 소영의 비밀을 알게 되고 그녀의 과거 어딘가로 향한다. 오래 전 강릉을 떠났던 정윤은 자신의 소설을 영화화하기 위해 소설의 주인공인 윤주를 찾아온다.
