탈북하는 도중 아이를 잃은 김련희는 무거운 죄책감을 안고 하루하루를 버티며 겨우 살아간다. 그런 련희가 일하는 편의점에 나타난 열일곱 김연희는 유통기한이 지난 삼각김밥을 훔친다. 련희는 가출소녀 연희가 아빠가 누구인지 “낳아 봐야 아는” 아이를 임신하고 있다는 사실을 알고 기막혀 한다. 련희는 자신의 삶 속으로 날아든 작은 새 같은 연희를 통해 오랫동안 지고 있던 죄책감으로부터 벗어나 새 삶을 시작할 희망을 발견하는데…
