유고슬라비아 내전 당시 세르비아 군 셰크니크 일원이었던 하리스. 과거 동료와 가족들의 살해과 고문을 참지 못했던 하리스는 보스니아군 사령관 미사르와 함께 전선에서 싸운 기억이 있다. 15년 후 현재 하리스와 미사르는 내전 당시 대학살을 초래했던 범인들을 붙잡아 재판에 세우길 다짐한다. 그러던 중 전범 재판소의 조력자인 레베카와 변호사 네르미나가 찾아와 범인들에 대한 정보를 가지고 있다고 말한다.
