열강의 침략으로 인해 나라가 혼란스럽던 1910년 중국의 광주, 소마는 어머니와 함께 도화거에서 장아찌 장사를 하며 살아간다. 20년 전, 소마의 아버지는 뛰어난 무술 실력을 지닌 일대종사였지만 사제인 단친 왕에게 살해당하는데 그 모습을 마차에서 갓난 소마를 안고 있었던 소마의 어머니가 보게 되고 도망을 친 과거가 있었다. 한편 소마는 거리에서 취재를 하던 완정이 카메라를 날치기 당하자 범인을 잡아주면서 가까워지고 완정의 신문사에서 일을 하게 된다. 소
