바다와 더불어 사는 한 여인이 있다. 혼자 밤바다에서 고기잡이 배를 모는 칠순의 여장부다. 고기 잡이는 물론 어장에 말뚝 박고, 수확하고, 장에 가서 장사하고, 심지어 농사까지 홀로 짓는 그녀는 한평생 가장 노릇하지 않는 술주정뱅이 남편과 함께 살아간다.
