58년 개띠, 몽상가 김태영 감독은 유명 다큐멘터리 감독이자 영화제작자이다. 우리나라 최초의 제대로 된 뮤지컬 영화 를 제작하다 뇌출혈로 쓰러져 불구가 된지 13년. 실향민 가족이며 미혼인 그는 매일 반복되는 빚 독촉과 아파트 퇴거로 고시원에 들어가게 되자 절망에 빠진다. 그러나 그보다 더 최악의 상황 속에서도 최고의 꿈과 희망을 꿈꾸는 5명의 이웃들을 만나면서 다시 일어설 긍정의 에너지를 찾게 되는데…
