29살 동갑내기인 호정(강수연), 연(진희경), 순(김여진)은 성격은 다르지만 서로의 사생활을 터놓고 지내는 절친한 친구 사이이다. 인테리어 디자이너인 호정은 물려받은 유산으로 자신의 집과 사업체를 마련했다. 그에 비해 연은 서비스 업종에 종사하면서 호정의 집에서 방을 빌려 쓴다. 호정에게 늘 밀리는 기분인 연은 현재의 남자 친구와 결혼해 독립하고 싶어한다. 하지만 남자친구는 이런 연에게 결별을 선언하고 연은 돌연 팔까지 다쳐 휴직을 하기에 이른다. 석
