대학교에서 사회학을 전공하는 아멜리아는 졸업 논문을 위해 세계적인 기업가 니콜라스에게 인터뷰 제안을 한다. 아멜리아의 제안을 받아들인 홀버그는 그의 잠수함에서 생활하며 인터뷰를 진행하기로 하고, 인터넷 연결도 되지 않는 한정된 생활 공간에서 함께 지내는 두 사람. 둘은 서로를 점차 알아가지만 홀버그가 갑자기 아멜리아의 방에 들어오자, 아멜리아는 홀버그의 흉흉한 소문을 떠올리게 되는데
