배우로의 성공을 꿈꾸는 사라는 한 연극의 조연으로 발탁된다. 하지만 그녀의 재능을 시기하는 주연 배우와의 심한 불화를 겪게 되고, 기다렸다는 듯 불길한 사건들이 잇따라 발생한다. 그러던 와중 주연 배우가 사고로 연극에서 하차하고, 그 자리를 사라가 차지하게 된다. 이상한 낌새를 느낀 사라는 인형 담당 스태프인 이즈미와 함께 사건의 진상을 파헤치기 시작하고, 마침내 극장에 기묘한 존재가 있다는 것을 눈치채는데
