김순경(조재현 분)은 서울에서 근무하다가 낯선 마을 신선면으로 전출되어 온다. 평화롭고 조용하기만한 마을 신선면. 그러나 외지인 김순경의 눈에 비친 신선면은 권태로운 일상에 빠진 철저히 배타적인 공간이다. 술 취한 사람에게 폭리와 폭행을 저지르고, 아이들은 대마초를 피우고, 깡패들이 여자를 강간하는 마을, 그러나 마을 사람들은 무죄인 곳. 어느 늦은 밤, 김순경을 찾은 여교사 소희(전진아 분)는 자살한 영선의 죽음에 뜻 모를 의문을 던지고, 동네 건달
