1943년 말, 세계 제패의 야욕을 불태우던 일본 제국주의의 만행이 극에 달했던 때, 일제는 식민지 조선의 꽃다운 소녀들을 일본군 위안부라는 이름의 성 노리개로 만들기 위해 전장으로 보내기 시작했다. 순진한 연희(한가영)는 애국 봉사대 활동을 마치면 동경 음대 유학을 갈 수 있다는 권모술수에 속아 전장으로 가는 배에 오른다. 중국의 전장에 도착한 연희는 곧 뭔가 잘못됐다는 사실을 느끼게 된다. 치욕적인 신체검사를 당한 것도 모자라 바이올린은 거친 군홧발
