렉키와 해병들은 글로스터 곶에 상륙한 후, 일본군은 물론이고 끔찍한 열대 환경과 싸워야 한다. 글로스터에서 살아남자 또다시 저주받은 섬 파부부로 배치된다. 렉키는 신체적, 정신적으로 전투의 후유증을 보이기 시작하고 바니카 부근에 위치한 해군 병원에서 정신 감호를 받게 된다.
