리버스 플래시로부터 받은 정보로 타키온 증폭기를 만들어 시험해 본 배리 일행은 스피드가 4배나 빨라졌음을 알고 기뻐하지만 웜홀을 모두 닫은 탓에 지구-2로 돌아갈 방법을 찾지 못해 고심한다. 갖은 연구 끝에 시스코의 바이브 능력이 웜홀을 여는 열쇠임을 알아냈지만 아무리 애써 봐도 웜홀은 열리지 않는다. 한편 웜홀 여는 것을 반대하는 웰스 박사는 배리의 마음을 돌리려고 조 형사를 찾아가지만 오히려 조 형사의 간곡한 부탁과 배리의 신념에 결국 설득당하고 리버브의 고글을 조정해 시스코에게 건네는데
