반역죄로 기소된 군인이 연행 도중 극심한 발작 증세를 보이며 병원으로 이송된다. 하우스와 팀원들은 감옥행을 피하기 위한 사기극이라고 생각했지만 연이어 나타나는 증상들과 고통을 호소하는 환자 앞에서 병의 해결을 위해 백방으로 노력한다. 하지만 환자는 자신의 신념을 지키기 위해 치료를 거부하기 시작한다.
